Happy Thursday 🎉 and a very warm welcome to my report 😊. Hopefully you are enjoying or enjoyed your day. I've had just another ordinary day stepping it out and as bedtime beckons, it's time to quickly take a look at how my day has been plus some of the trending stories I came across. As always thank you for reading and let's take it away 💨.
So today I had a wonderful brisk morning walk in the amazing fresh air. Then I was back indoors for a little bit of daily chores. Then later catching up with the news. The next chance of walking came in the afternoon out to the mall for some food, nice sunny day as I made my way. As always I squeezed in the afternoon nap and woke up some time early evening. After some news and you tube, it was time for the slow paced sunset walk. I had a nice walk then was back indoors still watching news and some you tube. I did enjoy the cool evening breeze 🍃 and beautiful sunset. So now let's quickly take a look at a summary of what was trending.
Locally, the usual political shenanigans kept going😹, the streets calm after yesterday's opposition protests. Some of the arrested people arraigned in court.
On the continent, the Cairo summit on Sudan, went on in Egypt. Leaders from Sudan's seven neighbours issued a joint statement urging warring parties to commit to a ceasefire.
Let's go to Europe, where France welcomed Indian PM Modi. Military deals in focus as India looks to purchase jets and submarines among other deals.
Not far off in Finland, president Biden held a meeting with various leaders of Nordic countries. Non aligned Finland is now a new member of NATO just in case Russia tries invading them😹.
Meanwhile in Ukraine, there's serious fighting around Bakmut as Ukrainian forces try to push out the Russians. Then in Kyiv 20 drones shot down, however debris from those drones damaged several buildings causing injuries too.
Across the pond in the US, in California, unions representing films and tv actors held a vote to strike🙀.Unions want studios to increase pay and have higher caps on pension and health contributions. The writers have been on strike for a while and it seems actors will be joining too.
Finally, Argentina's economy is in a crisis with inflation expected to rise above 40% this year🙀. A clear example of the failing of fiat currency whose value keeps plunging. Hopefully the smart ones are investing in btc and cryptos.
