Happy Thursday 🎉 and a very warm welcome to my report 😊.I've had just another ordinary day stepping it out and as bedtime beckons, it's time to quickly take a look at how my day has been plus some of the trending stories I came across. As always thank you for reading and let's take it away 💨.
So I kicked off the day with some brisk walking 👣 and jogging around the neighbourhood 🌲. A cloudy day but with some beautiful morning breeze 🍃. I had a rather short session then I was back indoors for some resting, a little bit of daily chores and catching up with the news. The next chance of walking came in the afternoon out to the shopping centre for some food. As always I squeezed in the afternoon nap and woke up some time early evening. After some news, world cup and you tube, it was time for the slow paced sunset walk. I had a nice walk then was back indoors still watching news, reading a few stuff before bedtime. So now let's quickly take a look at a summary of what was trending.
Locally, the usual political shenanigans kept going😹. Otherwise a quiet sunny 🌞 day.
Globally, the horror in Gaza kept going, over 100 killed as Israeli airstrikes struck Rafa and Gaza city 😿. In Rafa a mosque with ancient texts was destroyed and so were residential buildings.
The total death toll since October 7 now stands at 29,410 dead 😭.
In Israel, white house middle east adviser Brett McGurk met with isreali defence minister Yoav Gallant, discussing the progress being made in reaching a deal with Hamas on release of captives.
Let's go to Europe, outgoing Dutch PM, Mark Rutte is being backed by tje UK and US to succeed Jens Stoltenberg as NATO chief.
Farmers strike went on in Greece where beekeepers stacked empty beehives infront of parliament buildings🙀.
Trending in Spain, ex Brazil football star Dani Alves was found guilty of nightclub rape🙀. He has been sentenced to 4 years in jail and ordered to pay his victim 100,000 euros. He will probably be appealing that decision.
At the Hague, it was day 4 of the hearing of Israel's occupation of Palestinian territories. China stood with Palestinians and so did Jordan saying that there would be no peace until a free and sovereign Palestinian state is allowed.
Trending in Russia, eventually the mother of Alexei Navalny has been shown her son's body. She says Russian authorities are pressuring her to allow a secret burial🙀.
