Happy hump day 😎🎉 and a very warm welcome to my world 😊. As always glad you stopped by. Hopefully 2024 has been good to you this far💯. I am definitely grateful for this day and as it draws to a close, it's time to take a peek into how my stepping went and also share some of the trending stories I came across. Come on, let's get going 💨.
So as usual I had two major walks just like yesterday, starting off with the fast paced brisk walk around the neighbourhood. A rather short walk then I was back indoors for the usual household chores and a little bit of resting. The afternoon saw me walk to the shopping centre for some cooking groceries. As always I squeezed in my usual nap before evening set in. Then it was time for the slow paced evening walk enjoying the cool evening breeze🍃. Meanwhile in between the day I had been watching the trending stories on the news and also a little bit of crypto/twitter. let's get into that next
Locally, the usual political shenanigans 😹 kept going; otherwise a nice sunny day🌞.
Globally, the horror in Gaza kept going as Israeli airstrikes targeted Khan Younis and Rafa areas. 118 people killed in last 24 hours😭.
Nasser hospital in Khan Younis that was stormed by isreali military has no electricity, no water. Some patients have died due to lack of oxygen, medicines and other equipment🙀.
Also trending, protesting farmers in India have been tear gassed by police.
Speaking of farmers, let's cross over to Europe where police have fought protesting farmers in Madrid Spain🙀. Farmers are protesting against cheap imports and stringent EU regulations.
Ukraine is reporting that it has killed several Russian troops after targeting a training area in occupied east Ukraine with two missiles.
Then political shenanigans 😹 in the UK as MPs walked out of parliament in protest of speaker's handling of Gaza ceasefire debate. The Scottish national party has put forward a motion calling for an immediate ceasefire in Gaza.
Across the pond in the US, a group calling itself pilgrimage of peace have marched from Philadelphia to Washington DC calling for an immediate ceasefire in Gaza.
Finally, G20 foreign ministers are gathering in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil. Those wars in Ukraine and Gaza among the agendas to be discussed including climate change.
US secretary of state Anthony Blinken met Brazilian president Lula da Silva on the sidelines.
