Happy Monday 🎉 and a very warm welcome to my world 😊. It's a new week and the stepping continued unabated. Please keep reading 👓 as I fill you in on how my day has been including some of the trending stories I came across. As always thank you for being here and let's take it away 💨.
So I had two major walks, starting off early with fast paced morning session. I brisk walked around the neighbourhood. I did enjoy that fresh morning breeze🍃. Then I was back indoors for the usual household chores. later in the afternoon, I stopped by the shopping center then was back home for some cooking followed by the usual nap. In between I did check out some trending news and watched some you tube. Finally I finished off the day with the slow paced evening walk in the cool evening breeze.
So what's been trending. Locally, the usual political shenanigans kept going 😹.
Globally Gaza still trending with the ongoing airstrikes in the south🙀. The death toll has climbed and nears 29,000😭.
In Gaza city, Israeli forces opened fire into a group of Palestinians during aid distribution🙀. They were rushing to get some of the aid as the aid trucks approached.
Not far off, Israel hit Hezbollah targets deep within southern Lebanon in the town of Ghaziye🙀.
In Europe, top UN court, the ICJ is holding public hearings on Israel's occupation of Palestinian territories. The hearings will take place from 19 to 26 Feb. Israel has occupied Palestinian territories and Golan heights since the six day war in 1967.
Also trending, in Brussels, the EU approved its Red Sea naval mission to protect shipping vessels from houthi attacks. Just today they hit a British ship that is now in danger of sinking🙀.
The houthis have vowed to keep attacking vessels as long as Israel continued bombings in Gaza.
The widow of Alexei Navalny is in Brussels, meeting EU leaders and has vowed to continue the work of her husband who was killed in a Russian prison.
Across the pond in the US, a US draft resolution at UN security council has called for temporary ceasefire in Gaza. Adding that a planned Rafa offensive could impact regional peace and security as it would displace civilians too.
