Hello everyone 👋,
Happy Sunday 🎉 and a very warm welcome to my world ☺️. It's been a wonderful day and am so grateful for it, there are many who wanted to see it but didn't, so for that am humbled. As always I am back to report on how the day has been plus some of the trending news I came across. Thank you for being here and let's get started 💨..
So just like yesterday, I kicked off with the fast paced morning session. Thoroughly enjoyed the cool morning breeze 🍃 as I made my way around the neighborhood 🌲. Then I was back indoors for some rest and the daily household chores. A little bit of youtube and cooking then the afternoon saw me go out to the shopping centre for some fruits and veggies. Next came the refreshing nap💤. Then I woke up some time later in the evening and continued watching some of the earlier videos and news, There was also some interesting and exciting football matches going on.
I did finish off the day with the slow paced evening walk enjoying the cool evening breeze.
Now let's quickly take a look what has been trending in the media streets.
Locally, the usual political shenanigans 😹 kept going.
Globally, another horrendous day in Gaza as 127 Palestinians were killed in the last 24 hours😭. Israel has intensified airstrikes in Rafa where 1.5 million displaced Palestinians have been sheltering🙀.
In Khan Younis, Israel's assault on Nasser hospital left eight patients dead as oxygen ran out. They were hoping to find Israeli hostages being held there by Hamas, but they didn't find them😿.
Not far off in Yemen, the US has carried out five strikes in houthi controlled areas. The houthis have been targeting commercial shipping vessels in the red sea🙀.
In Europe, Russia has now claimed full control of the town of Avdiivka after Ukraine withdrew it's troops🙀.
That's Russia's biggest gain since capturing Bakhmut in May. The war is now nearing it's third year 😿.
Speaking of Russia, the US and UK ambassadors to Moscow have laid flowers to honour Alexei Navalny, who died in prison on Friday😭. We may never know exactly what happened to him.
In Germany the Munich security conference drew to a close after 3 days of talks on global issues including Gaza. Palestinian PM has said the only solution is sanctions on Israel since Netanyahu was not listening to his boss - the US🙀.
German chancellor Olaf Scholz said aid must be allowed into Gaza.
Across the pond, US signals it will block proposed Gaza ceasefire resolution at UN🙀. US says it would veto an Algerian draft resolution at the UN security council urging ' immediate humanitarian ceasefire'
Also trending, Brazilian president has accused Israel of committing a genocide against Palestinians and compared it's war on Gaza with Adolf Hitler's campaign to exterminate Jewish people🙀. Adding in Gaza it's a war between a highly prepared army and women and children. He was speaking in Addis Ababa where he is attending the African union summit.
