TGiF 🍷🍻 and a very warm welcome to my world 😊. The weekend is upon us and 😹.I have had a great day which I am also truly grateful for😹, it's a blessing to be alive 💯. I thank you all for stopping by yet again. Time to wrap things up and quickly take a look at how my day has been plus share some trending stories. Let's get it 💨.
So as always my day began with a little bit of stretching then a few rounds of brisk walking around the neighbourhood. That fresh morning breeze🍃 was so wonderful. Then I was back indoors where I rested then got on with the little daily chores around the house. In between I caught up with the latest news and watched some crypto and youtube. My next walking came later in the afternoon getting some fruits and veggies. Then I was back indoors for the usual nap. I woke up feeling refreshed some time early evening. watched the news then it was time for the sunset walk. As always slow paced around the neighbourhood and park. So that was the stepping and now let's quickly look at what trended in the media.
Locally, nothing much happening except the usual political shenanigans 😹.
On the continent, Senegal trending as the president has finally agreed to set a date for general elections this after the top court ruled that attempts to delay February's poll was unconstitutional😹.
Globally, we are still in Gaza where another horrendous day unfolded for Palestinians killed in the south in Khan Younis and Rafa😿.
28 deaths reported in the latest shelling🙀. The total number of deaths since October 7 is 28,775😭.
A desperate situation was witnessed as Palestinians rushed to incoming àid trucks as the desperately look for food. Most people are eating wild plants, grass and animal feed😿.
US president Biden has told PM Netanyahu that there must be a temporary ceasefire in Gaza. This to allow aid to reach the most needy, for hospitals to be restocked with fuel and medicines. But will Netanyahu listen?. That's the big question.
Russia trending as they announced the death of opposition leader Alexei Navalny in prison at the age of 47😭. World leaders have blamed Putin for that death. Navalny had been seriously poisoned years ago, he underwent treatment in Germany and on discharge he vehemently returned to Russia.
However, this is nothing new, during Putin's rule several of his vocal critics have died or sentenced to long jail terms🙀.
Across the pond in the US, a New York court has ordered Donald Trump to pay more than $350 million in a landmark fraud case😹. He will definitely be appealing this.
Finally, Ukraine is withdrawing some troops from the front line in the town of Adiivka after months of heavy fighting with Russian military. It might just be days before Russia captures it😿. Elsewhere, president Zelensky on a visit to France has met president Macron and signed a security deal.
