Happy Sunday 🎉 and a very warm welcome to my report 😊. As always I am grateful for this day, trust me, there are many who wanted to see it but couldn't so we are blessed to be here💯. Sunday is that day of gratitude and reflection. So thank you for stopping by and please keep reading 👓 as I let you in on how my day has been including some of the trending stories I came across. Let's get cracking 💨.
So as usual, I began the day with the fast paced morning session. Brisk walking 👣 and jogging around the neighborhood 🌲, enjoying the cool morning breeze 🍃. Then I was back indoors for some resting and then later my usual daily chores. I had a big pile of laundry to get through. Then I also kept abreast with the trending news and emails. Later in the afternoon I had a little bit of walking going to the mall for some groceries and window shopping. I was back indoors for the usual refreshing nap.
I woke up to some interesting EPL matches, just now the finals of the AFCON are still going on as Ivory Coast are playing Nigeria, may the best team win💯.
The evening came fast and I woke up to cooking, watching a bit of youtube. Then I was out in the hills as the sun was setting to enjoy the slow paced evening walk that winds down my day. It was wonderful 🥰.
Finally let's quickly look at what was trending in the media.
Locally, the usual political shenanigans 😹 kept going.
Globally, another horrendous day in Gaza as Israeli strikes in the south killed 112 Palestinians in the last 24 hours😿. The death toll since October 7 is now 28,176😭.
US president Biden has had a call with Israeli PM Benjamin Netanyahu. He urged Israel not to go ahead with Rafa operation without proper plan to protect civilians.
Remember Rafa is the last refuge holding over a million Palestinians displaced from everywhere else.
Qatar, Egypt, Saudi Arabia, Germany and the US warn of disaster if Israeli Rafa offensive goes ahead🙀.
In Tel Aviv, the usual weekend protests by families of captives went on. Asking the govt to do more to secure their release. Others asking Netanyahu to resign🙀.
In Pakistan, former PM Imran Khan's PTI party and its affiliates have won the most seats in the election 😹. The military have called for stability as multiple parties allege election tampering and announce protests🙀.
Across the pond in the US, Ukraine aid package approval gained momentum after key US senate vote.
Also trending in the US, tonight the super bowl is on as the Kansas chiefs go one on one with San Francisco 49ers😹. May the best team win💯. Usher will be performing the half time show, will check it out tomorrow. Am sure it will be wonderful😻.
