TGIF 😎🎉 and a very warm welcome to my world 😊. Its yet another 24 hours to be grateful for 💯, We are literally into the new month of December, the holiday season😹. I have had a great day and as it draws to a close am raring to go with my stepping activities and also share what's trending in the media streets. As always thank you for reading and let's take it away 💨.
I kicked off the day with a few rounds of brisk walking around the neighbourhood. It was a beautiful sunny 🌞 morning as I made my way. I did enjoy my walk and was back indoors an hour later. I then rested for a while, caught up with emails, watched the news and then the usual chores around the house.
My next stepping came later in the afternoon going to the city centre for some errands. Still a beautiful sunny day as I made my way. It was nap time when I got back indoors, I woke up some time early evening and got on with the cooking, watching a little bit of news and youtube .Next came the evening or sunset walk, it looked like it would rain but it didn't and I made it back home safe and sound. Now let's quickly look at what has been trending in the news today.
Locally, the usual political shenanigans kept going😹, today was world AIDs Day, basically seeking to spread awareness about the disease.According to UNAIDS,39 million people around the globe are living with HIV🙀,definitely be careful.
Globally, death and destruction returned to Gaza. Israel killed more than 178 Palestinians as the bombings resumed 😿. Those pictures of injured children are just distressing😭.
Israel said Hamas broke the ceasefire agreement on Friday morning by firing rockets into Israel from Gaza 🙀. Hamas armed wing the Qassam brigades said it had targeted Tel Aviv with a salvo of rockets.
Israeli PM, Netanyahu has vowed to continue with the war until Hamas is wiped out🙀.
Meanwhile, Qatar announced that negotiations to restore ceasefire were ongoing. However they said the resumed bombings will make the whole situation worse😿.
Also trending, most aid trucks are stuck at the Rafa crossing as they cannot move around under bombing.
In the other war, Ukraine's security service has blown up a rail connection deep inside Russia🙀.
Across the pond in the US, republican George Santos has been expelled from Congress in a historic vote🙀. This after a damning ethics report , he faces dozens of criminal charges. He is the sixth lawmaker to be expelled and the first since 2002.
Finally, the cop28 summit ended day 1 in Dubai as top world leaders urged action on fossil fuels. Lets hope they come up with good strategies to deal with heavy polluter countries 💯. Most times they just talk with no follow up action😹
