Hello everyone π»,
Happy hump πͺ day and a very warm welcome to my report. I have had a great day and as that midnight hour beckons am back to fill you in on how it went including the trending stories that caught my eye π.
Alright, here we go again, come on π¨.
I did begin my day with the usual walk around the neighborhood. I went grocery shopping then extended a bit into the main road and back indoors.
Throughout the day I followed up on the trending stories, watched some YouTube and checked out Twitter too.
It's been mostly cloudy βοΈ with a few spells of sunshine π. The temps have come down from two days ago with rain π§οΈ forecasted in the coming days.
My last walk was the sunset π walk, slow paced enjoying the cool evening breeze π.
That's about it, and now let's turn our attention to the trending stories that made headlines.
Starting off in Gaza, the blood bath continued with the deaths of ten PalestiniansπΏ. They were killed in Israeli airstrikes in a populated market place in Beit Lahia northern Gaza.
Authorities have declared Beit Lahia a disaster zone, after 93 people were also killed there yesterdayπ.
Meanwhile more Israeli airstrikes hit Lebanon. This time east in the historic, ancient city of Baalbekπ.
Israel issued forced evacuation orders to 85,000 residents to leave immediately.
The area is a UNESCO site, a tourist attraction with ancient unique temples. Let's hope they stay intact in all this.
Hezbollah on the other hand, fired rockets π into northern Israel. Air raid sirens went off in the port city of Haifa as the rockets and projectiles were intercepted by the defence system.
On a brighter side, Lebanese caretaker PM, Najib Mikati says a ceasefire deal with Israel is coming in the next few days.
Senior US officials are traveling to Israel for possible ceasefire deal.
In Europe, UK trending as it was budget day. Finance minister Rachel Reeves read the budget in parliament.
What stood out was the massive tax increases of about Β£40 billion π. She insists it is needed to plug a Β£22 billion hole in the nation's finances she inherited from the Conservatives and to invest in the NHS and other public services.
Albania trending too, as angry protesters blocked roads and engaged with policeπ. They are angry at the imprisonment of a former president.
Across the pond in the US, the campaign is on. Both Harris and Trump are sure they will winπΉ. Am sure Americans are now sick of election ads everywhere and the on going back n forth.
In Africa, Congo trending as today marked 50 years since the famous 'rumble in the jungle' fight which saw underdog Mohamed Ali beat George Foreman. Definitely an iconic moment in boxingπ―.
In crazy weather, Spain's south east Valencia region experienced the worst floods of a centuryπ. 95 people reportedly killed as rescuers search for many who are still missingπΏ.
PM, Pedro Sanchez, has declared three days of mourning. Some witnesses described it a tsunami as they recounted the horror of the deadly floodπ.
Experts say such extreme events are caused by climate change. Let's hope they never see a flood like that and recovery will be fastπ―.
So that's it from me, see you again tomorrow on an amazing throwback Thursday π. Until then, stay safe, take care and toodles β€οΈ. Hakuna Matata π»π―.
