Hello everyone π»,
Happy Monday π and a very warm welcome to my report. We are onto a new week as we move towards the end of January.
I began my day with the usual morning walk around the neighborhood. A heavily cloudy day as I made my way, and cold π₯Ά too.
Next came the house chores and then later onto the trending stories from x and you tube.
The day continued to be cloudy up until the evening when I set out for the sunset π walk.
I walked around the neighbourhood and park before heading back home and calling it a day.So now let's take a quick look at what has been happening around the world.
In Gaza, it was day two of the ceasefire, no more bombs or airstrikesππ.
Palestinians were returning to some of their old neighborhoods only to find most in ruinsπΏ.
Many of them are happy to be alive even though life will be challenging going forward.
Another positive note is that close to 900 trucks carrying aid got into the Gaza strip with food, water, fuel and other supplies needed by the people.
In the other war, Ukraine says it downed close to 93 Russian drones launched on an overnight attackπ.
Across the pond, the biggest story of the day.
Donald Trump was sworn in as 47th president of the USπ. Congratulations to himπ. He later gave an elaborate speech outlining some of the executive orders he would be signing immediately.
The most important was declaring an emergency at southern border and halting illegal immigration.
The remain in Mexico policy will be back in effect, requiring asylum seekers to wait in Mexico as their case gets determined.
He also said he will sign an executive order proclaiming US will recognize only two genders, male and femaleπΉ.
Panama canal was foolishly given to Panama, now being run by China but US will take it backπ.
He will rename the gulf of Mexico and Mt Denali to gulf of America and Mt. McKinley respectively.
This are just some of the orders but most important was him saying he wanted to be a peace maker and unifierπ―.
The world is definitely tired of wars, he did achieve ceasefire in the middle east, something Biden has failed in more than a year.
Fingers crossedπ€for that Ukraine/Russian conflict.
He also didn't mention crypto or bitcoin in his speech. Though his defi company bought $47 million worth of BTC. He also has staking with Ethereum and launched memes on SolanaπΉ.
Let's give him time to see if he talks of that BTC strategic reserve. Some good news though, Gary Gensler has already resignedπΉ, to be replaced by a pro crypto person.
So the future of crypto still bright, BTC surged to 109k as the day began. It's going to be quite a bullish yearπ―
So that's about it from me, see you again tomorrow on a fiery tree π² Tuesday.
Until then stay safe, take care and good bye β€οΈ. Hakuna Matata π»π―
