Hello everyone π»,
Happy hump πͺ day and a very warm welcome to my report. I have had a great day and as that midnight hour beckons am back to fill you in on how it went including the trending stories that caught my eye π.Alright, here we go again, come on π¨.
I did begin my day with the usual walk around the neighborhood. A beautiful sunny π but cold π₯Ά morning. I went grocery shopping then extended a bit into the park.
Throughout the day I followed up on the trending stories, watched some YouTube and checked out Twitter too.
My last walk was the sunset π walk, around the neighbourhood, dark and cold but I was dressed appropriately.
That's about it, and now let's turn our attention to the trending stories that made headlines.
Starting off in Gaza, the blood bath continued with the deaths of 49 Palestinians across the stripπΏ. Israeli airstrikes hit various areas including Jabalia, Beit Lahia, Central Gaza and Khan Younis. In Beit Lahia 22 members of one family killed in one of the strikesπ.
Meanwhile, Israel continued airstrikes in Syria even as Syrians celebrate the fall of Assad regime. The Israeli army says it has destroyed about 80% of Syria's military capabilitiesπ.
Nearly 500 hundred airstrikes in Syria over the past three days have been hitting weapon stockpiles and other military facilities.
Israel says the airstrikes are aimed at preventing weapons from falling into hands of extremists.
Israel has also expanded its occupation deeper into Syrian Golan heightsπ.
UN special envoy to Syria has urged Israel to stop those airstrikes and ground incursion into Syria.
Meanwhile, celebrating Syrians have burnt and destroyed the tomb of Hafiz Assad, the father of Bashir Al Assad, who they say destroyed their country with his dictatorship.
The newly appointed PM Mohamed Al Bashir said one of his first goals is to bring back millions of refugees back home.
In Europe, many countries have decided to put on hold processing of asylum for Syrians following the fall of Assad regime.
However, time will tell if Syrians will want to return. It's been over 50 years of rogue regimes, it will definitely take time to rebuild and restore a safe country for everyone. Many Syrians will be watching π―.
In the other war, many Ukrainian men are resisting being drafted into the military πΉ.
The law requires that men between 25 and 60 register and be called up to fight. Ukraine is currently facing shortages of personnel on the front line as they fight Russian occupation.
Recruiting officers have been seen chasing men down in the streetsπΉ.
Finally, football trending as fifa confirmed that the 2030 World cup will be held in 6 countries. Spain, Portugal and Morocco will be joint hosts.
Three matches will be held in Argentina, Paraguay and Uruguay to mark 100 years of the competition.
Saudi Arabia will then solely host the 2034 world cup. Am sure it will be held in the winter as the Saudi summers are terribly hotπΉ.
So that's it from me, see you again tomorrow on an amazing throwback Thursday π. Until then, stay safe, take care and cheerioβ€οΈ. Hakuna Matata π»π―.
