Hello everyone π,
Happy Thursday π and a very warm welcome to my report π. I've had just another ordinary day stepping it out and as bedtime beckons, it's time to quickly take a look at how my day has been plus some of the trending stories I came across. As always thank you for reading and let's take it away π¨.
So I kicked off the day with some brisk walking π£ and jogging around the neighbourhood π². A cloudy day but with some beautiful morning breeze π. Then I was back indoors for some resting, a little bit of daily chores and catching up with the news. The next chance of walking came in the afternoon out to the shopping centre for some food. As always I squeezed in the afternoon nap and woke up some time early evening. After some news and you tube, it was time for the slow paced sunset walk. I had a nice walk then was back indoors still watching news including crypto. So now let's quickly take a look at a summary of what was trending.
Locally, the usual political shenanigans kept goingπΉ. The evacuations in the flood hit areas is still underway as repairs of roads and infrastructure in progress.
Globally, another deadly day in Gaza as at least 28 Palestinians including children killed in Israeli airstrikes in the past 24 hoursπΏ.
The total death toll is at 34,596 since October 7 π. This death toll is definitely higher considering those stuck under heavy rubble and the mass graves yet to be discovered.
Hamas says it is studying the latest ceasefire proposal from Israel in a positive manner. However, PM Netanyahu has vowed to invade Rafa regardless of any ceasefire dealπ.
Also trending, Turkey has halted trade with Israel owing to what's going on in Gaza.
In Europe, UK trending as human rights organizations have criticized the UK govt's plan to deport migrants.
Activists blocked the road and slashed bus tyres to halt removal of 8 migrantsπΉ. They were supposed to be flown to Rwanda but were returned into the hotel.
Across the pond in the US, a violent showdown at UCLA as police demolished an encampment of protesting students arresting over 200π.
Student pro Palestinian protests are still ongoing on many campuses across the US.
At the Portland state university, police removed protesters from the campus library.
President Biden has told protesting students that their protests have not prompted any middle east policy change.
Meanwhile former president Donald Trump has ridiculed the students calling them lunatics and moronsπΉ. Adding that it was a movement from the radical left and it would get worseπ.
Finally, more protests expected in Tbilisi, Georgia as protesters want the new controversial foreign agents bill to be scrapped. Calling it a Russian influenced law as such kind of law is in effect in Russia.
Fingers crossed and waiting to see how all this turns out
So that's it, do check me out yet again tomorrow on an amazing high five Friday π. Until then keep stepping and enjoying yourselves to the max π―. Nothing much to add but bid you adieu πππ Take care, Hakuna Matata.
