Happy Thursday 🎊 and a very warm welcome to my report. Hopefully you are having a wonderful day. Mine has been ok and am ready to fill you in on how it went plus share some of the trending stories I came across.
As always thank you for stopping by and let's get things rolling💨.
So I had two walks today, starting off with a short morning walk around the neighborhood.
No morning rain, so I was out and about going grocery shopping and catching some of the early morning sun rays🌞. It's been sunny and cloudy the entire day.
Later in the afternoon we got a little bit of drizzling 🌧️ but I was indoors doing some chores including cooking.
I also kept busy watching YouTube and following up on the trending stories from around the world.
Later in the evening, the sun 🌞 shot through yet again. I was out finishing of my walk for they day around the neighborhood.
I didn't walk much until that drizzling 🌧️ started and I had to get back indoors. But am happy I got some walking done😹.
So now let's quickly take a look at what has been happening around the world.
In Gaza, Israeli airstrikes kept going. Jabaliya refugee camp in the north has been reduced to rubble🙀. Most areas in Gaza are quickly being destroyed leaving most Palestinians with no homes😿.
In the occupied west bank, a market in Ramallah went up in flames 🔥 as Israeli forces raided it, targeting money exchange shops🙀.
Trending in Europe, Slovenian govt has approved recognition of an independent Palestinian state. Following suit to Norway Spain and Ireland who have formally recognized Palestine and insisted it's the only path to lasting peace in the region.
Ukraine happy as Biden administration gave them permission to strike inside Russia using US weapons. The partial move will be applied in Kharkiv area to shoot down Russian rockets.
Across the pond in the US, Donald Trump has been found guilty on all 34 counts in relation to falsifying business records🙀.
Trump making history as first former US president convicted of a criminal offence😿.
So will a convicted felon become president of the US😹. The sentencing is on 11 July but he does have a right to appeal. So many unanswered questions still linger on the ramifications of the conviction. Let's watch this space.
Trump says it was a rigged trial and the real verdict would be by the people on 5th Nov. Adding that even mother Teresa would not have escaped conviction😹.
Finally, votes are being counted after South Africa's election. The ruling ANC party is set to lose its majority for the first time since coming to power 30 years ago🙀.
We are waiting for the results.
