Hello everyone π»,
Happy Monday π and a very warm welcome to my report. We are onto a new week, headed deeper into October or is it UptoberπΉ. Hopefully you had or are having a great day.
Mine has been ok and it's now time to break it down including the trending stories. You definitely know the drill πΉ. Thank you for stopping by and let's quickly take a look, come onπ¨.
So today I didn't have my morning walk, instead I handled the the house chores and kept following the trending stories.
My first walk came around noon, going to the grocery for some cooking ingredients.
It was a nice cloudy day, a little warmer than yesterday though. I walked a little further to the pharmacy picking up some prescriptions.
Anyways, my last walk was this evening enjoying the cool evening breeze around the neighborhood.
So then now let's look at the trending stories.
Gaza trending as today marked one year since the war began. 1,139 Israelis were killed and another 251 taken by Hamas as hostagesπΏ.
After a year of bombardment Gaza is close to totally destroyed. 2 million people's lives turned upside downπ.
41,870 killed including 16,891 children. The highest death toll of children in any conflictπΏ. Over 1000 children are amputees, meaning their lives have been permanently scarred.
96 percent of the population in Gaza faces severe food insecurityπ.
The war isn't stopping so expect more deaths. 100 Israeli captives are still being held by Hamas, their return may be the key to ending all this.
Fingers crossed π€ negotiations on a ceasefire can take place, otherwise the suffering will continue.
To commemorate, Hamas fired rockets π into Israel targeting Tel Avivπ.
More bombardment in Lebanon in Beirut and on the border. Israel military tells residents on Lebanese coast south of Sidon to leave their homesπ. This as it targets Hezbollah positions.
Across the pond, the US has spent $22.76 billion in support of Israel's war on Gaza and operations against houthis in Yemenπ.
This according to a report by Brown University's Watson Institute.
The $17.9 billion in military aid to Israel since the war in Gaza started a year ago, is the highest annual total ever.
A large part of the US delivered arsenal is munitions, including artillery shells and 2,000 pound bombsπ.
Finally in crazy weather, as if hurricane Helene wasn't enough, there's another hurricane called Milton headed for Floridaπ.
I don't know when it will make landfall but right now its wind speeds are 280km/h or 175 mphπ.
Fingers crossed π€ it slows down, those speeds can can serious destruction.
Anyways, all's well that ends well π―.
So that's it, let's touch base on a fiery terrific Tuesday. Take care and good bye β€οΈ. Hakuna Matata π».
