Hello everyone π»,
Happy Sunday π and a very warm welcome to my report. It's the second Sunday of December and as always a day of gratitude and appreciating all the good things in our lives π―.
For me it's been another ordinary day and it's now time to break down how my stepping went and also the trending stories that caught my eye π.
As always thank you for reading and let's dive in π¨.
I began my day with some stretching moves before heading out for a walk around the neighborhood and park. It was chilly but I was dressed appropriately with thick gloves tooπΉ.
After about 20 minutes, I was back indoors ready to deal with the usual house chores including laundry and cooking.
The afternoon saw me indoors checking out some YouTube videos and also trending news from around the world.
There were also some interesting matches in the EPL. Chelsea are on fireπ₯πΉ.
My final walk was in the evening, dark and cloudy rainy sunset. I walked for a short while around the neighbourhood before the drizzling got stronger and I had to head back indoors.
As usual the blood bath continued in Gaza with 16 Palestinians killed in Israeli airstrikes on central GazaπΏ.
Next, the biggest story of the day. There has been joyous celebrations across Syria after Bashir Al Assad's fallπΉ. And it happened so fast with ten days.
Assad and his father before him, have both ruled the country with an iron fist for the last 54 years. Under Bashar's 24 year rule close to 500,000 Syrians have been killed and ten million are refugees living outside Syria.
How do you even sleep at night with the blood of half a million on your handsπ.
It is a moment of humiliation for both Assad and Putin who has been backing his barbaric regime. Probably Putin was spread too thin because of his war in Ukraine this time he couldn't back Assad up.
He has now given Assad asylum in RussiaπΉ.
Meanwhile, head of the opposition rebels, Abu Mohamed Al Jolani made a formal announcement that the Assad rule had come to an end on national tv.
People were seen relaxing in the presidential palace, others even carrying away stuffπΉ.
Political prisoners were freed from a notorious prison in Damascus. Most had been imprisoned unfairly for criticizing the Assad regime. Today was their dayπΉ.
It's not only in Syria, all over Europe Syrian refugees celebrated the fall of Assad, some are even contemplating returning home.
Let's hope the opposition can now unite the country and create a better country than the dictatorship of the Assad familyπ―
Meanwhile, in Africa, Ghana trending as former president John Mahama has won the just concluded presidential electionβ
. Congratulations π to him π.
On the same note, congratulations π to Lando Norris for winning the Abu Dhabi grand prixπ. Norris's victory has allowed McLaren to win formula one constructor's championship for the first time since 1998. How amazing is thatπ―
I definitely wish everyone else lots of winning as a new week unfoldsπ―.
See you again tomorrow on an awesome Monday.
Stay safe, good night π΄ and Good bye β€οΈ. Hakuna Matata π».
