TGIF 🎊🎉 and a very warm welcome to my report. We are definitely out of the holiday season as we dig more into January😹.
I trust your day is going well 💯, mine has been awesome and it's now that time of day to slow down and fill you in on how it went including the trending stories that caught my eye 👀.
Thank you for stopping by and let's get into it 💨.
So I began my day with a quick walk around the neighborhood. Another cloudy chilly morning but I was dressed appropriately.
Then I was back indoors after about 20 minutes of walking ending up at the grocery.
I set out to do some house chores before settling down to some you tube videos and checking on trending stories on x.
There was some lovely sunshine 🌞 during the day for a while but by 4pm it was dark😹.
The evening saw me out for my final walk around the park before heading back indoors
So now let's quickly take a look at what has been trending.
In Gaza the bloodshed continued with 116 deaths reported across the strip since announcement of the ceasefire on Wednesday😿.
Speaking of the ceasefire,In Israel the security cabinet has recommended that the deal be approved and should take effect on Sunday.
However, far right Israeli national security minister, Itimar Ben-Gvir has threatened to withdraw from government if the ceasefire goes through, he wants Israel to continue an all out war on Hamas and not stopping🙀.
Meanwhile, families of Israeli captives say their loved ones are at risk every minute a ceasefire deal is delayed.
Meanwhile, the WFP is excited by the news of a ceasefire, tonnes of food and other supplies held up at the border will be able to reach long suffering Palestinians once a ceasefire sails through.
Not far off, Lebanon trending as French president, Macron paid a courtesy call on new PM and also pledged to work on strengthening ties with the new Syrian administration next door.
In the other war, Four people have been killed in Russian airstrikes in the town of Kryvyi Rih in Ukraine😿. Ukraine on the other hand attacked russian town of Belgorod.
Speaking of Russia, Iranian president is in Moscow where he has signed strategic partnership treaty with Putin. The 20 year treaty includes military cooperation.
Back to Asia, Pakistan trending as former PM Imran Khan, already in prison was sentenced to 14 years in prison in land corruption case🙀. His wife was sentenced to 7 years
His supporters gathered and protested outside parliament following that ruling. His lawyers vowing to appeal that decision that they called politically motivated🙀.
Finally, China trending as president Xi had a phone call with incoming president Trump and discussed a whole range of issues. Trump's office saying they both will make the world more peaceful.
In the US, the supreme court has upheld a bill to ban social media app - Tik Tok in 48 hours unless it is bought by a US investor🙀. Could that have been one of the things Trump was speaking to Xi about. am sure we will soon find out😹.
