Hello everyone, i hope you are fine.
In this season there is so much problem of cold. Anywhere you go, it is important to wear more clothes even if you doesn't want to.
Similarly, in our state, we not even wear those clothes which keeps us warm but we also keep this thing with us for the most of time.
This is called KANGRI. Kangri is a small pot filled with lighted charcoal, used to transport fire carried close to the body as a means of keeping warm. The use of Kangri is even earlier than 1526 AD. Kangris come in different colours and ornamentation.
'Kangri' or 'Kanger' is more like a traditional and cultural symbol of Kashmir rather than just being something meant for warming purposes.
You can keep it under blanket or Pheran.
It costs about $3.2 something to buy but after that it doesn't cost you anything till the whole life. But there is a little glitch of it,and it is, If it fell on the matting or any other thing by chance it will burn that as far as coal has spread out.
So everyone who does its use, carries it carefully. It is very usefull as we don't have to buy coal or something for it. We use light coal which we get by burning pruned little branches. I have already posted about pruning. And i have mentioned it there.
As Kashmiri, i can say it is the best thing in winters because it keeps you warm without charging anything except those $3.2 which is its(Kangri/Kanger) buy price. Room heaters charges you money because they run on electricity of LPG but this thing costs nothing. I would love to say that you people should really use it one in a life. Whenever you visit our country(India), don't forget to visit Jammu and Kashmir.
