16000 Schritte reichen eben nicht, wenn man gewinnen will. Vielen Dank @stefannikolov, dass Du mir diese Wahrheit in Erinnerung gerufen hast.
Aber trotzdem werde ich wohl mit etwas Glück in die Erste Liga aufsteigen, bis ich nach der nächsten Staffel wieder rausfliege, denn gegen die dort verbleibenden und den beiden Newcomern @stefannikolov und @stefannikolov habe ich nicht den Hauch einer Chance. Auf - und Abstieg ist aber auch Bewegung, auch wenn sie nicht gezählt wird.

Ich bin jetzt 4 Monate in der dominikanischen Republik und noch immer fühle ich mich nicht ganz zu Hause.
Da ist zum Einem der wohl angeborene Drang der Locals so viel Geräusch, Krach , Lärm zu machen, wie es möglich ist. Wenn es nicht die schon ab Werk überlauten Mopeds sind, neben denen sogar eine gepimpte Harley leise schnurrt, dann sind es Chinas Boomboxen, die vor wirklich jedem Laden stehen und auf maximale Belastung getestet werden. Und fehlt mal beides wie an abgelegenen Parks oder Straßen, findet sich immer ein verbeulter US-Pickup oder schrottige Asien-Limusine, die sich mit ziemlicher Sicherheit nur mittels Schallwellen fortbewegen. Selbst wenn die nicht in Hörweite sind, chillen garantiert drei Dominikaner in ihren Wohnungen bei 130 Dezibel. Daran kann man sich gewöhnen. Ich bin ja schon älter, da lässt das Hörvermögen nach und außerdem habe ich ab Nachmittags meist Wasser im Ohr.

I am now 4 months in the Dominican Republic and still I do not feel quite at home.
On the one hand, there is the probably innate urge of the locals to make as much noise, noise , noise as possible. If it's not the already factory overloud mopeds, next to which even a pimped Harley purrs quietly, then it's China's boomboxes, which stand in front of really every store and are tested for maximum load. And in the absence of both, as in remote parks or streets, there's always a beat-up US pickup or junky Asian limousine that almost certainly moves only by sound waves. Even if they are not within earshot, three Dominicans are guaranteed to be chilling in their apartments at 130 decibels. You can get used to that. I'm already older, so the hearing ability decreases, and besides, I usually have water in my ears from the afternoon on.

Schlimmer in meinen Augen ist die allgegenwärtige Verfettung der Menschen.
Damit meine ich nicht die Rentner, die haben es sich verdient. Ich meine die vornehmlich us-amerikanischen Farbigen, die hier auf Urlaub sind und ihr weibliches hiesiges Servicepersonal. Davon sind 80% so fett; ich dachte nie, dass für diese Volumina überhaupt Stringtangas, Leggings und Stretch-Hotpants gibt. In China verkauft man diese bestimmt als textile Autogaragen.

Worse in my eyes is the ubiquitous obesity of the people.
I dont mean the pensioners, who have earned it. I mean the mainly us-American colored people who are here on vacation and their female local service staff. Of those, 80% are so fat; I never thought thongs, leggings and stretch hot pants even existed for those volumes. In China, I'm sure they sell these as textile car garages.

Daher rührt wahrscheinlich auch meine Zurückhaltung beim Fotografieren; es sieht einfach daneben aus, wie ein Unfall, krank.
Es mag sein, dass diese Sicht sehr subjektiv ist, ich habe halt ein anderes Schönheitsideal. Aber so sehe ich das nun mal.
Es sieht hier auf den Straßen wie in amerikanischen HipHop Trashvideos aus. Riesige Autos, riesige Ärsche und dazwischen lärmende Prolls in Baseballklamotten incl sichtbaren buntbedruckten Unterhosen mit viel fake-Bling-Bling.
Und die restlichen 20% sind so jung, dass sie wohl eher in der Schule sein sollten.

That's probably where my reluctance to take pictures comes from; it just looks off, like an accident, sick.
It may be that this view is very subjective, I just have a different ideal of beauty. But that's how I see it.
It looks like American hip-hop trash videos on the streets here. Huge cars, huge asses and in between noisy prolls in baseball clothes incl visible colorful printed underpants with a lot of fake bling bling.
And the remaining 20% are so young that they should probably be in school.

Aber alles andere ist eben besser als erwartet, keine sichtbare Kriminalität außer Prostitution und Drogenhandel, jeden Morgen ein sauberer Strand. freundliche Einheimische (wirklich!), leben und leben lassen.
Ich glaube , ich brauch noch länger mit meiner Entscheidung ,

But everything else is just better than expected, no visible crime except prostitution and drug dealing, a clean beach every morning. friendly locals (really!), live and let live.
I think I still need longer with my decision,
