So, I decided to try racing on MyWhoosh indoor training platform. A few years ago I did couple races on Zwift, but competition was brutal. I am not a guy to compite with 4+ Watts per kg human machines. Ffs, I am 50 years old 😂
So after hanging on MyWhoosh groups for a while, they assured me that I can find an event in my category. So I tried and this is what I found. There was more than 20 events in time when I decided to ride at 20:00 hours. All events had some guide in description, from relaxed easy ride to push to the limits. So I picked one of the easy ones and a few minutes later start pedaling.
Warmup is possible from about 30 minutes before event. MyWhoosh will show you on starting line riding an trainer. Nice touch.
Race is well simulated, including draft and everything. Let me say that only six people finished race, four or five people give up and did not end it. Tempo was good and suited for my current stamina. I managed to hold places 1-2-3 in leading group, but at the half of the raceI decided that riding at hartrate of 175 bits per minute is a liitle too much for my age. So I dropped my heartrate to 165 bpm and at the end finished third.
Nice one, and more important - I liked it a lot. I plan to race once per week from now on. Stay tunned for next result 🚴♂️😊
