It was a crazy day, crazy busy! The whole show actually started two days ago, in the afternoon, when we were returning home. My husband was driving. Suddenly, something began to bang and scrape so noisily that it seemed the car would fall apart. It was too late in the afternoon, and our repairman was no longer working. We agreed my husband would take it there first thing the following day.
So, yesterday morning, the car ended up at the service. Allegedly, it took them almost the whole day to detect the issue. In short, they called us shortly before their closing time to tell us what was wrong and how much the repair of that loud banging-scraping "song" would cost us if we decided to fix it; if not, they just wanted to inform us that the car is actually not in driving condition.
Great! Of course, with "so many options" at our disposal, we chose to fix it. Then they told us that they wouldn't be able to finish it that day (yesterday) anymore and that they would call us tomorrow (today) to tell us when we could pick up the car.
For this morning, my husband already had a full schedule. He cannot make scheduled home visits to his patients, each of whom lives in a different part of the city without a car.
Therefore, I had to rearrange my today's working schedule (luckily, it's more flexible) to jump in and play the role of his driver, and while he was at the visit, eventually "jump" to another location to take down something from my to-do list, and then "jump" back to pick him up and drive to another location.
All in all, I have been "jumping" around today all day long. (If Actifit has that option among their offered "Activity Types," I swear I would check that box!)
However, among all these jumps, I also managed to jump to the central city open market, which is relatively empty today, and where the fish market is located as well. I was looking for catfish. - In vain! They didn't have it. The import shipment from Vietnam has not arrived. What?! - Why do we import fish from distant Vietnam when our rivers and lakes are full of the best-quality catfish?! Insane!
I was pissed thinking how our politicians are courting the trade lobby or, better to say, trade mafia at the expense of domestic fishermen and fishing, which they are destroying that way.
I was still occupied with those thoughts when my phone rang, and the car mechanic informed me we could come to pick up the car, of course, by bringing "just" 400 and something Euros, which we didn't plan to spend at all.
It was before noon! I'm leaving you to imagine the rest of the day.
