My Actifit Report Card: August 2 2024

in actifit •  5 months ago

I've not done any Actifit posts for a few days as I think I should limit myself to one post a day. Well, I run out of things to say otherwise.

Last night, my wife and I attended a "bat walk" on Siston Common, which is fairly close to where we live in Keynsham. There were about 15 of us who were invited to attend the walk, which was put on by South Gloucester Council for people who do volunteering work in the community.

We only actually saw 3 or 4 bats, but the chap who was led the walk was incredibly knowledgeable, and we found the whole experience very rewarding. Perhaps I might invest in a bat detector as they let you know which species is actually flying around.

Phew, after a tough week, it was a rest day for me today, so I went into Bath and had a round of golf on the pitch and putt course with my friend. The top few holes have only been open for a few days after the course was closed at the start of covid, and to say the holes were rough would have been a bit of an understatement. Nonetheless, we had a great time hacking around the fantastic area of Bath.

The trip would have finished at lunchtime, but my train home was cancelled, so I had to spend an extra hour in the pub before eventually getting the train.

Thank you for reading, and I'll be back shortly.
