This Saturday marked that last hockey game of the current season. This week, I was playing for our 3rd team away against Swindon. It was another brilliant and very enjoyable game, but in the end, we ended up with a 3 - 3 draw. I really did think we were going to get our first win of the season in the last game. As a point of interest, our three goals were each scored by 3 of the 4 lads who were playing who also play for our under 16 junior team. Hopefully, that bodes well for the next few years.
The evening was marked with our end of season club dinner and award ceremony. I managed to pick up the "captains player of the year" award. Not bad for an old git like me.
The screen grab is from the England hockey website and shows our final positions for the year. As you can see, our second team managed to finish in 6th position while our thirds were at the bottom in 12th position. Ah well, onwards and upwards.
Thank you for reading, and I'll be back tomorrow.
