Mixed weather today. Some sunshine and some rain. Luckily not too much humidity. Good in a mid kind of way.
A giant yellow steel dragon appeared on the traintracks today. With its hungry teeth it eats all the gravel from underneath the rails.
Leaving the rails suspended in mid air. The concrete binders hovering underneath the dragon's belly.
And then it dumps the gravel right back onto the tracks?!
It had me wondering for a moment what this whole ordeal was all about. They're actually just cleaning the gravel. Taking out soil and plant debris from between the rocks to keep the railbed in good condition.
Pretty amazing what kind of efforts are taken to maintain such a mundane little part of all this infrastructure.
Thanks for your time!
