Peanuts for Breakfast: Tuesday June 11 2024

in actifit •  6 months ago

This is my corvid friend Ronald. You might even remember him from my reports back in 2022.

Over the past two years we've bonded quite well and at times he'd come to see me several times a day to collect some peanuts.

I was beginning to get slightly worried a few weeks back when he suddenly stopped showing up. His buddy, who's much more shy and careful with approaching a featherless human, still came around and collected some nuts in a safe distance, but Ronald just wasn't anywhere to be seen.

"He" came back two weeks ago or so, still not with the old regularity, but every other day. And "he" looks a bit malnourished. If I add one plus one, taking the time of year and what I know about crow's habits... Ronald is probably a "she" and has been taking care of the nest.

Will I get to meet some young crowlings soon?

Thanks for your time!
