Dear Blurt Community,
I am thrilled to present the new version of my funding proposal 31 by the Blurt Decentralized Fund (BDF), replacing the previous one that expires in 10 days. First and foremost, I want to express my heartfelt gratitude to all Blurtians who supported the previous proposal 24 with their votes. Thanks to your support, the previous proposal 24 received an impressive 11.62 million BP, placing it in second position, just 4 million BP behind the Blurt burning proposal.
What is the Blurt Decentralized Fund (BDF)
The Blurt Decentralized Fund (BDF) is a community-driven decentralized finance platform that operates on the Blurt blockchain. The BDF was created to provide financial support to Blurt ecosystem projects that contribute to the growth and development of the platform. The BDF operates through a decentralized autonomous organization (DAO) that allows stakeholders to collectively make decisions on funding proposals. Anyone can submit a proposal for funding, and the community votes to determine which proposals will receive funding. Proposals can range from technical development to marketing and community-building initiatives and are subject to community review and approval before funding is allocated.
Summary 2023
As we look back on 2023, it has been a year of significant progress and achievements for the Blurt ecosystem. Here is a summary of what has been accomplished.
Open-Source Tools and Connectors
In 2023, I published a number of open-source libraries for the Blurt blockchain, including updates to dblurt, the JSON-RPC connector, which is now at version 0.10.9 as of 10 days ago. You can access the full list here: BeBlurt GitLab repo.
Nexus Module
I have dedicated significant effort to the Nexus community module of the Blurt blockchain (as well as @techcoderx and @saboin), allowing the BeBlurt frontend, which I own, to be the first frontend to offer Blurtians the ability to create their communities and publish their posts there. In addition, I also addressed several issues in the Nexus module of the Blurt blockchain, as well as developed new features for the Nexus module such as the affiliate account system.
Testnet
This year also saw the establishment of a free TESTNET for the Blurt blockchain, including the Nexus module, I created for all developers wishing to develop without the risk of impacting the production blockchain.
Analytical Statistics
Every month, I also publish a highly detailed and unique monthly statistical analysis post, thanks to the development of a powerful blockchain analysis tool for the Blurt blockchain I made. This allows you to easily access important data, helping you more easily project your time and money investments on this blockchain and make well-informed decisions.
You also had the right to a number of explanatory posts on the blockchain.
I also contributed significantly to the Blurt Discord, supporting various developers of the blockchain using my libraries.
With these achievements in mind, I am excited to outline the plans for 2024 and beyond.
Plans for 2024
As we look forward to 2024, a year that promises to be pivotal for Blurt, I am excited to share some ambitious plans:
Nexus Module
In the Nexus module, I am currently working on (non-exhaustive list):
- Implementing the ability to pin posts on one's blog
- Implementing the ability to pin comments received on one's posts
- Continuing to add missing notifications
I also plan to explore:
- Adding more in-depth post analysis by AI (language, SEO) via Mistral AI
- Unveiling other surprises that I am not yet ready to reveal
Onboarding
In 2024, I plan to focus on creating a simplified onboarding solution for Blurt. This solution will include the Nexus affiliation system and a free account creation process using referral codes.
My goal is to make it easier for new users to join the Blurt community and start engaging with the platform. This initiative aligns with my commitment to growing and supporting the Blurt ecosystem, and I look forward to sharing more details as the project develops.
Analytical Statistics
I will make my analytics tool open-source, allowing anyone to integrate certain unique data into their frontend, similar to what I have done with BeBlurt.
Video Blurt
I will resume the development of a WebTorrent video solution, peer-to-peer through Interactive Connectivity Establishment (ICE) via STUN/TURN, that I started previously at the same time as a layer 2 solution similar to Hive-Engine, and adapt it to Blurt. This includes a specific player that can be embedded into any Blurt frontend or other website.
These initiatives aim to enhance the Blurt ecosystem, providing new features and tools for our community to thrive. With your support, I am confident that we can make 2024 a year of great success for Blurt.
Budget
The budget for this new proposal is set at 9,000 BLURT per day and will be allocated as follows:
- 35% for architecture
- 65% for development
This budget projection is based on full funding, which would require 16 million BP of support. If the proposal 31 is only partially funded, adjustments will need to be made to the planned features for 2024.
How to Support the Proposal 31
Firstly, the voting bug on proposals (where once a proposal expires or is deleted, the value of the votes is not released) has not yet been fixed. The fix is included in Hardfork 09, which has been adopted but the date of implementation and deployment has not yet been communicated. Therefore, before supporting the new proposal 31, it is imperative that you remove your vote from the old proposal 24.
It's important to note that governance votes, such as those for proposals or witnesses, work on a proportional basis. Each vote cast divides the total BP available, meaning that supporting multiple proposals diminishes the impact of each vote. For example, if you vote for one proposal, the requester receives 100% of your BP; if you vote for two, each requester receives 50%, and so on.
