KILL ALL THE POOR

in ethics •  last year

race, religion, culture, ethics all mean nothing

Well, it doesn't help to become fatalistic. Even if it's true, I'm still alive. Should I kill myself? Should I find everything hilarious from now on?
I have understood that life is not a fair that only has amusement in store for me. It is often banal or hard, unfair or frightening. With all the opposites of that. Humour is when you laugh anyway, that's true.

I find meaning in religion and in what I see as my culture. And, why not?

I find meaning in religion and in what I see as my culture. And, why not?

right, personally

we all take comfort in our own familiar beliefs

but i would hope

you don't count anyone who has different beliefs

as your automatic sworn enemy

and even if you did, the point i'm trying to highlight here

is that the "religious differences" are superficial distraction

and they simply mask a more primal power struggle

If that would be so, my mom would have been my automatic sworn enemy and I would have been hers. Since this was not the case, I saw that relationships are complex and what I dislike and disrespect about another human being, needs not to condemn him or her on the whole.
But I was direct towards her and she towards me. We had our battles and debates.
It's better to fight openly than in secret.

is that the "religious differences" are superficial distraction.

I know what you mean.

I find meaning in religion and in what I see as my culture. And, why not?

in reference to ultimate power dynamics

we say things like "this war is a religious conflict"

or "a clash of cultures"

but the reality of the situation is more clearly viewed as

RICH = GOOD

POOR = BAD

ultimate power dynamics

Let me take G. K. Chesterton as a reference before I answer in more biblical terms.

(1) Don’t use a noun and then an adjective that crosses out the noun. An adjective qualifies, it cannot contradict. Don’t say, “Give me a patriotism that is free from all boundaries.” It is like saying, “Give me a pork pie with no pork in it.” Don’t say, “I look forward to that larger religion that shall have no special dogmas.” It is like saying, “I look forward to that larger quadruped who shall have no feet.” A quadruped means something with four feet; and a religion means something that commits a man to some doctrine about the universe. Don’t let the meek substantive be absolutely murdered by the joyful, exuberant adjective.

The devil is a charm because if he'd appear in front of me as a hoofed, fanged monster, I would turn him away straight away, wouldn't I? So he appears in the guise of the eternal seducer and flatterer, the eloquent orator, the beautiful man or woman. He'd talk in the way Chesterton describes it.

So, the ultimate power dynamics are for me the advertisements, slogans, trends, seductions and mis-takings I can fall for and to which I must obviously fall for in order to recognize what they are. The work of the dark.
The ultimate dynamics is what Star Wars is about.

I don't think you provided this link to Chesterson (but maybe you did) so I will place it here

Oh, Thank you. I have forgotten to ad it.

No, I mean I can't remember if I got it from you or not. I haven't had a chance to read it yet.; I have to print it out. I hate reading on the computer. But it's got a tab of its own here.

  ·  last year  ·

Yes, it was me giving it to you.
I have the tab open day and night, for there is a lot to read :=) Love his writing style. And his very unusual use of direct words and comparisons.

I stopped printing but got into the habit of reading pdfs with screen on full power and the letters to the biggest size. I can't read on paper any more because I have really bad eyes and it's too dark no matter how much lamps I have switched on next to my couch/bed. LOL

i'm thinking slightly more primal

like "lord of the flies"

or "the trigger effect"

All the great movies like Lord of the Rings or also Game of Thrones and other fantasy or SF stories have the same theme: it's which of the forces is going to get you and will make you acting against what is sacred or holy. Or, in more secular terms, what is against your conscience.
I am not familiar with "The trigger effect". "Lord of the flies" I read a long long time ago. Did not like the emotions it caused me, if I remember correct.

the trigger effect is a movie about a power outage
