Sesame is a cash crop of the Indian subcontinent. Although it is found in all continents of the world, it is cultivated more in the Indian subcontinent. It is also a popular cash crop in our country. Sesame, which is rich in medicinal properties, is cultivated more or less everywhere in Bangladesh. A type of sweet called Tiler(Sesame) Khaja is very popular and delicious dessert worldwide. Tiler(Sesame) Khaja is made by making Khaja with sugar or jaggery, and sesame seeds are spread on it. However, it is not raw sesame seeds. The black skin of the sesame seeds is peeled in a special way to extract the white color. Later, these sesame seeds are dried and roasted over a fire, and Tiler Khaja is made by applying sesame seeds to the Khaja made with the sweet.
Sesame oil is used in addition to medicine and cooking. Applying sesame oil to poison pain in the body easily reduces poison pain. If the flesh of any place is under pressure, Sesame oil is applied there to soften it. Sesame and sesame oil are full of herbal and medicinal properties.
Our Bangladeshi sesame ""Bharta and Chutney**" is a very popular delicious food. Which is very fun to eat with rice and bread. Regular use of sesame or sesame oil as food prevents the skin from wrinkling.
Although sesame was cultivated in every house in the past, nowadays sesame is not cultivated in that way. However, about 5% of the houses in every village are seen planting two to four sesame trees. From which sesame is collected and eaten Bharta or Chutney throughout the year. Although sesame trees were not eaten by cows and goats in the past, nowadays goats eat these trees.
By planting two to four sesame trees in each house, sesame can be collected for several years. In this way, it is possible to meet the needs of the family's vegetables in many parts.

তিল ভারত উপমহাদেশের একটি অর্থকরী ফসল। বিশ্বের সকল মহাদেশে তিন দেখা গেলেও, ভারত উপমহাদেশে এর চাষ বেশি হয়ে থাকে। আমাদের দেশেরও একটি জনপ্রিয় অর্থকরী ফসল। ঔষধি গুণে ভরপুর তিল বাংলাদেশের প্রায় সর্বত্রই কম বেশি চাষ করা হয়ে থাকে। বিশ্বব্যাপী তিলের খাজা নামে একপ্রকার মিঠাই খুবই জনপ্রিয় এবং মুখরোচক মিষ্টান্ন। তিলের খাজা চিনি বা গুড় দিয়ে খাজা তৈরি করে, তার উপর তিল ছড়িয়ে দেওয়া হয়। তবে কাঁচা তিল নহে। তিলের গায়ের কালো খোসা বিশেষ উপায়ে ছিলে ফেলে সাদা রং বের করা হয়। পরে এই তিলগুলো শুকিয়ে আগুনের আঁচে ভেজে নিয়ে, মিষ্টি দিয়ে তৈরি খাজার গায়ে তিল লাগিয়ে তিলের খাজা তৈরি করা হয়।
তিলের তেল ঔষধি ছাড়াও, রান্নার কাজে ব্যবহার করা হইয়া থাকে। শরীরে বিষ ব্যাথাতে তিলের তেল লাগালে সহজেই বিষ ব্যথা কমিয়ে আসতে থাকে। কোন স্থানের মাংস চাপ সৃষ্টি করলে, সেখানে তিলের তেল লাগিয়ে নরম করে নেওয়া হয়। তিল এবং তিলের তেল পুরোটাই ভেষজ ও ঔষধি গুনে ভরপুর।
আমাদের বাংলাদেশ তিলের ""ভর্তা ও চাটনি** খুবই জনপ্রিয় একটি মুখরোচক খাবার। যাহা ভাত সহ রুটি দিয়ে খেতে খুবই মজা। নিয়মিত তিল বা তিলের তেল আহার্য হিসেবে ব্যবহার করলে শরীরের চামড়া কুঁচকে যাওয়া থেকে রক্ষা পায়।
আগেকার দিনে প্রতি বাড়িতে তিল চাষ করা হয়ে থাকলেও, আজকাল আর সেভাবে তিল চাষ করতে দেখা যায় না। তবে প্রতি গ্রামে প্রায় ৫% বাড়িতে দুটি চারটি করে তিল গাছ লাগাতে দেখা যায়। যেখান থেকে তিল সংগ্রহ করে সারা বছর ভর্তা বা চাটনি খাওয়া হয়ে থাকে। তিল গাছ আগেকার দিনে গরু ছাগলে না খাইলেও আজকালকার দিনে এগাছ ছাগলে খেয়ে থাকে।
প্রতি বাড়ির পতি জায়গায় দু-চারটি করে তিল গাছ লাগিয়ে, কয়েক বৎসর ধরে তিল সংগ্রহ করা যায় । তাতে পরিবারের তরকারির চাহিদা অনেক অংশে পূরণ করা সম্ভব হয়ে থাকে।

এখন ফুল দেখা গেছে। কয়দিন পরে হয়তো তিলও ধরবে ।যেখান থেকে আমরা তিল বীজ সংগ্রহ করতে পারব। ইনশাআল্লাহ
