Dear friends, since last year till now the prices of daily necessities in our country are very high. Onion is one of the daily necessities of our country that have increased in price this time. In fact, one of the main reasons for the increase in the price of onions is that the production of onions in our country was much less compared to our demand. However, every year I cultivate onions for my family in some areas of my pond. In the continuation of that, this time too, I have planted onions in about three hundred places on the banks of my pond. First I collected very healthy strong onion seedlings for planting onions.

সুপ্রিয় বন্ধুগণ, আপনারা সবাই আমার আন্তরিক শ্রদ্ধা এবং ভালোবাসা গ্রহণ করবেন। আমি আশা করি আপনারা সবাই মহান আল্লাহ তায়ালার অশেষ রহমতে অনেক ভাল আছেন, সুস্থ আছেন এবং নিরাপদে আছেন। আমিও আপনাদের দোয়ায় এবং মহান আল্লাহপাকের দয়ায় অনেক ভাল আছি। আজকে আমি আরো একটি নতুন পোস্ট নিয়ে হাজির হয়েছি।সুপ্রিয় বন্ধুগণ, গত বছর থেকে শুরু করে এখন পর্যন্ত আমাদের দেশে নিত্যপ্রয়োজনীয় বিভিন্ন জিনিসপত্রের মূল্য অনেকটাই বেশি। এবার আমাদের দেশের যে সমস্ত নিত্য প্রয়োজনীয় জিনিসপত্রের মধ্যে মূল্যবৃদ্ধি হয়েছে তারমধ্যে পেঁয়াজ অন্যতম। আসলে পেঁয়াজের মূল্য বৃদ্ধি হওয়ার অন্যতম প্রধান কারণ হলো আমাদের চাহিদার তুলনায় আমাদের দেশে পেঁয়াজের উৎপাদন অনেকটাই কম ছিল। যাহোক, প্রতিবছরই আমি আমার পুকুর পাড়ের কিছু জায়গায় আমার পরিবারের জন্য পেঁয়াজের চাষাবাদ করি। ঠিক তারই ধারাবাহিকতায় এবারও আমার পুকুর পাড়ের প্রায় তিন শতক জায়গায় পেঁয়াজ লাগিয়েছি। পেঁয়াজ লাগানোর জন্য প্রথমেই আমি অত্যন্ত সুস্থ সবল পেঁয়াজের চারা সংগ্রহ করেছিলাম।
Recently I have collected onion seedlings of desi variety. As the taste and quality of desi onion is good, its demand is also high. However, the price of such seeds is also a bit high. I bought a total of 13 kg of onion seedlings at the rate of Tk 60 per kg.
After collecting the seedlings, I first cut off the excess part of them. Many people don't know, cutting off the top part of the onion before planting does not cause any harm, instead the seedlings quickly grow new roots and settle well in the soil. As a result, the growth of onion is better and the yield is also better.
Then I prepared the garden soil well. Fertility has been increased by softening the soil and applying fertilizers, so that onion plants can grow faster. Onion seedlings are usually planted in rows, so that there is sufficient air circulation between the plants and light reaches them properly.
Regular watering is important in onion cultivation. Since I grow in a desert environment, I water five times a day so that the roots of the plants do not dry out. But don't give too much water, because it can rot the roots.
I have understood from this experience that good yield can be obtained if seedlings are prepared and cared for properly. Hopefully, this year's cultivation will yield good results and onion production will help meet the needs of my family.
সম্প্রতি আমি দেশি জাতের পেঁয়াজের চারা সংগ্রহ করেছি। যেহেতু দেশি পেঁয়াজের স্বাদ ও গুণগত মান ভালো, তাই এর চাহিদাও বেশি। তবে এ ধরনের চারার দামও কিছুটা বেশি হয়ে থাকে। আমি প্রতি কেজি ৬০ টাকা দরে মোট ১৩ কেজি পেঁয়াজের চারা কিনেছি।
চারাগুলো সংগ্রহ করার পর প্রথমেই আমি এগুলোর বাড়তি অংশ ছেঁটে দিয়েছি। অনেকেই জানেন না, পেঁয়াজের চারা লাগানোর আগে এর উপরের অংশ কিছুটা কেটে দিলে কোনো ক্ষতি হয় না, বরং এতে চারা দ্রুত নতুন শিকড় গজিয়ে মাটিতে ভালোভাবে স্থির হয়। ফলে পেঁয়াজের বৃদ্ধি ভালো হয় এবং ফলনও ভালো পাওয়া যায়।
এরপর আমি বাগানের মাটিকে ভালোভাবে প্রস্তুত করেছি। মাটি নরম করে এবং সার প্রয়োগের মাধ্যমে উর্বরতা বৃদ্ধি করেছি, যাতে পেঁয়াজের গাছ দ্রুত বেড়ে উঠতে পারে। পেঁয়াজের চারা সাধারণত সারিবদ্ধভাবে লাগানো হয়, যাতে গাছগুলোর মধ্যে পর্যাপ্ত বাতাস চলাচল করতে পারে এবং আলো ঠিকমতো পৌঁছায়।
পেঁয়াজ চাষে নিয়মিত পানি দেওয়া গুরুত্বপূর্ণ। যেহেতু আমি মরুভূমির পরিবেশে চাষ করি, তাই দিনে পাঁচবার পানি দেই, যাতে গাছের শিকড় শুকিয়ে না যায়। তবে অতিরিক্ত পানি দেওয়া ঠিক নয়, কারণ এতে শিকড় পচে যেতে পারে।
আমার এই অভিজ্ঞতা থেকে বুঝেছি, সঠিক নিয়মে চারা প্রস্তুত ও পরিচর্যা করলে ভালো ফলন পাওয়া সম্ভব। আশা করি, এবারের চাষে ভালো ফল পাবো এবং পেঁয়াজের উৎপাদন আমার পরিবারের চাহিদা মেটাতে সহায়ক হবে।
I had prepared about 10-12 days before the place where I planted the onion seedlings on the bank of the pond. Since the price of onion seedlings is high this year, I was waiting, if the price comes down, then I will buy seedlings and plant them.
Finally, when the right time came, I started the process of planting onion seedlings at 11 am. We two brothers do this work together. It took a lot of time to plant so many saplings together, but after hard work the fruits will come - this hope was our strength.
After planting the onion seedlings, I irrigated the water so that the seedlings can grow well. After work we return home in the afternoon. Now wait for good yield of onions with regular care and maintenance. This pond side cultivation has made us more interested in agriculture besides meeting the needs of our family.
পুকুর পাড়ের যেই স্থানে পেঁয়াজের চারাগুলো লাগিয়েছিলাম, সেটি প্রায় ১০-১২ দিন আগেই প্রস্তুত করে রেখেছিলাম। এ বছর পেঁয়াজের চারার দাম বেশি থাকায় অপেক্ষা করছিলাম, যদি দাম কমে, তখন চারা কিনে রোপণ করবো।
অবশেষে, উপযুক্ত সময় আসায় পেঁয়াজের চারা লাগানোর কার্যক্রম শুরু করলাম সকাল ১১টায়। আমরা দুই ভাই মিলে এই কাজটি করি। একসঙ্গে এতোগুলো চারা লাগাতে বেশ সময় লেগেছিল, তবে পরিশ্রমের পর ফল আসবে—এই আশাই ছিল আমাদের শক্তি।
পেঁয়াজের চারা রোপণ শেষে পানি সেচ দিয়েছিলাম, যাতে চারাগুলো ভালোভাবে বৃদ্ধি পেতে পারে। পরিশ্রম শেষে বিকেলে আমরা বাড়িতে ফিরে আসি। এখন অপেক্ষা, নিয়মিত পরিচর্যা ও যত্নের মাধ্যমে পেঁয়াজের ভালো ফলনের। পুকুর পাড়ের এই চাষাবাদ আমাদের পরিবারের চাহিদা মেটানোর পাশাপাশি কৃষিকাজের প্রতি আরও আগ্রহী করে তুলেছে।

পেঁয়াজের চারা গুলো লাগানোর শুরুতে বেশ ভালো লেগেছিল। অনেকটা আনন্দের সাথে পেঁয়াজের চারা গুলো লাগাচ্ছিলাম। পেঁয়াজের চারা গুলো আমরা লাগিয়েছিলাম লাইন করে। আর লাইন করে পেঁয়াজের চারা লাগালে সবথেকে বেশি ভালো হয়। বিশেষ করে পেঁয়াজের চারা তুলনামূলক কম লাগে এবং লাগানোটা সুন্দর হয়। একই সাথে পেঁয়াজের উৎপাদনটা তুলনামূলক বেশি হয়। যাহোক শেষ পর্যন্তও আনন্দের সাথেই পেঁয়াজ লাগানো সম্পূর্ণ করেছিলাম। পেঁয়াজ লাগানো শেষে পেঁয়াজের জমিটা দেখতে খুবই সুন্দর লেগেছিল। যেখানে পেঁয়াজ লাগিয়েছি সেখানে অবশ্য কয়েকটা টমেটোর গাছ রয়েছে। একই সাথে পেঁয়াজ লাগানোর জায়গার এক পাশ দিয়ে কয়েকটা লাউ গাছ রয়েছে। সব মিলিয়ে একটা মিশ্র চাষ হয়ে গেছে। কিন্তু এতে কোন সমস্যা হবে না। কারণ পুকুর পাড়ে মাটি অত্যন্ত উর্বর মাটি। তারপর অত্যন্ত যত্নের সাথে পেঁয়াজ লাগানোর জায়গাটি প্রস্তুত করেছিলাম।

Watering after planting onions is very important. Our pond is equipped with a submersible pump, with which we can easily irrigate the land. My younger brother very patiently irrigates the land slowly, so that the roots of the saplings are properly attached to the soil. Onion plants cannot tolerate too much water, so be careful when watering.
Advantages and importance of onion cultivation
Onion cultivation is important not only economically but also for family food security. If you cultivate in your own land, you don't have to buy onions from the market, so the cost is reduced. Besides, family bonds are strengthened when everyone in the family works together.

পেঁয়াজ আমাদের দৈনন্দিন রান্নার অন্যতম প্রধান উপাদান। কিন্তু বাজারের ওঠানামা এবং দাম বৃদ্ধির কারণে অনেক সময় সাধারণ মানুষ সমস্যায় পড়ে। তাই ঘরের পাশে কিংবা মাঠের ফাঁকা জমিতে পেঁয়াজ চাষ করলে পরিবারের চাহিদা মেটানো সম্ভব এবং অর্থ সাশ্রয়ও করা যায়। সম্প্রতি, আমি এবং আমার ছোট ভাই একসঙ্গে আমাদের পুকুরপাড়ে পেঁয়াজ চাষের উদ্যোগ নিয়েছি।
পেঁয়াজ চারা রোপণের প্রস্তুতি
পেঁয়াজ চাষের জন্য প্রথমেই ভালো মানের চারা সংগ্রহ করা জরুরি। আমরা স্থানীয় বাজার থেকে সুস্থ ও সবল পেঁয়াজের চারা সংগ্রহ করি। এরপর জমি প্রস্তুত করার জন্য মাটি ভালোভাবে কোপানো ও ঝুরঝুরে করা হয়। পেঁয়াজ চাষের জন্য দোআঁশ বা বেলে দোআঁশ মাটি সবচেয়ে উপযোগী, যা সহজেই পানি নিষ্কাশন করতে পারে। জমিতে জৈব সার ও সামান্য রাসায়নিক সার ব্যবহার করে মাটির উর্বরতা বৃদ্ধি করা হয়।
পানি সেচ ও যত্ন নেওয়া
পেঁয়াজ রোপণের পর পানি দেওয়া অত্যন্ত গুরুত্বপূর্ণ। আমাদের পুকুরে একটি সাবমারসিবল পাম্প লাগানো আছে, যা দিয়ে আমরা সহজেই জমিতে পানি সেচ দিতে পারি। আমার ছোট ভাই অত্যন্ত ধৈর্যের সঙ্গে আস্তে আস্তে জমিতে পানি সেচ দেয়, যাতে চারা গাছের শিকড় ঠিকমতো মাটির সঙ্গে আটকে থাকে। পেঁয়াজ গাছ বেশি পানি সহ্য করতে পারে না, তাই পানি দেওয়ার ক্ষেত্রে সতর্ক থাকতে হয়।
পেঁয়াজ চাষের সুবিধা ও গুরুত্ব
পেঁয়াজ চাষ শুধু অর্থনৈতিক দিক থেকে নয়, পারিবারিক খাদ্য নিরাপত্তার জন্যও গুরুত্বপূর্ণ। নিজের জমিতে চাষ করলে বাজার থেকে পেঁয়াজ কিনতে হয় না, ফলে খরচ কমে আসে। এছাড়া, পরিবারের সবাই একসঙ্গে কাজ করলে পারিবারিক বন্ধনও দৃঢ় হয়।
আপনারাও শুরু করতে পারেন
আপনার বাড়ির আশপাশে যদি কিছুটা খালি জমি থাকে, তবে আপনিও পেঁয়াজ চাষ শুরু করতে পারেন। এতে নিজের ও পরিবারের খাদ্য চাহিদা মেটানোর পাশাপাশি কিছু অর্থ সাশ্রয় করা যাবে। এছাড়া, কৃষিকাজের প্রতি উৎসাহ বাড়বে এবং পরিবেশবান্ধব একটি উদ্যোগ নেওয়া সম্ভব হবে।
