The Angles, Saxons and Jutes are the Anglo Saxon people who invaded Britain during Roman times and after. The Angles and the Saxons were the largest of the three tribes which have attacking England for hundreds of years, so they were usually called Anglo-saxons. Although they shared the same language but each were ruled by different strong warriors and warlords.

The Anglo- saxon were majorly farmers and warriors who originated from north west of Europe. They began to strike Britain during the Roman times and occupation.

The description of Anglo-Saxon people includes the following characteristics such as tallness, fair-haired men, armed with swords, spears and round shields for protection against any form of aggression or hostility. They have passion for fighting due to their fierceness.

They have some notable hobbies and manpower such as hunting, leather working, farming, textile(cloth) production among others.

Much of the English land was covered in thick oak forests and most of England one million population lived in the countryside as they were mostly Celtic people who made a living from farming.

As it was said earlier on British history, the Romans invaded England and ruled over it for like 4 centuries and later left when Italy was under vicious attack by some Italian fierce tribes. Although when the Romans were leaving the British people were not happy with it because they had no professional soldiers of their own to protect them from sea attackers and pirates.

However, with the breakdown of Rome's control of Britain, it made it easier for the Anglo-saxons who had been invading the coast and island of Britain for a hundred years to launch several attacks and increase their pressure.

The Saxon chieftains which are the group leaders such as Hengist and Horsa led a huge attack on Kent city in 455 AD. They marched ftin Thanet to Canterbury and finally arrived at Aylesford an area where firece battle attack occurred.
